(Poor fishies...)
Ryan's Dad has a boat. I have been on it quite alot and have achieved the color of parchment paper. (YES!) Ryan took me fishing...i decided i liked it. A LOT! That very next day when we went to Walmart for some bait, i ended up seeing a pole just for me.
Yes everyone. I BOUGHT a FISHPOLE.
It says "Ladies Fishing COMBO"
it's silver and pink. :] and it's
PERFECT!
We went fishing along the lake shore that very afternoon.
I caught my very first fish!! :]
These Little fish are called Walleyes, pronounced wall-eyes
however, at fist Ryan and i didn't know such and we called them Walle's
:] I just like our way best.
do not worry. we let this one go free. :]
Later that night Ryan caught himself a catfish.
Although we didn't let the fish go, once we arrived home, i couldn't bear to let him hurt it. We said some words for it, i said i was sorry to the fish, and we burried it in the trash.
We went fishing again later that week.
Ryan caught NOTHING. I caught TWO fish!!
This time we took my two fish home.
I decided I was grown enough to eat my catch.
isn't that what real fishers do anyways?
How to prepare your fish.
This is the graphic part.
1.scrape off the scales.
2. off with their head!!!
3. Gut it.
image was removed, due to super grossness.
take my word for it.
4. off with the tail
5. wash off.
Ryan proceeded to batter them and fry the fish.
However, due to circumstances, I ended up NOT eating any fish.
In all truth i felt really bad for the fish, and i couldn't force myself to even taste it.
Ryan said they were good though...
Ryan and I went out on the boat again yesterday.
After many fishless hours we decided to head in.
Ryan still had some bait left on his hook and decided to fish a little longer.
And then...IT HAPPENED!
HE CAUGHT ONE!!
it was sixteen whole inches long!!!
Success!
Oh Rebekah... You are too funny! O.K., I admit it, I may very well have problems eating my fresh catch as well... but this is a cute post!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I tried listening to the song (although just reading the title has the song running through my head), but it said you have to sign up and become a member, yada, yada, yada... I don't have time, so I didn't actually get to have the full sight and sound interactive experience... :-)
OH, I miss you! Please visit me when you return from Wonderland.
ReplyDeleteFUN! Way to be brave and try something new! YAY!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Miss Adventure again! When you coming back?
That sounds like a good time! Gone fishin' sounds like something I would like to try someday. The first and only time I have ever been fishing, there were quite a few, er, mishaps. No graphic images though...darn! Then I could've had a cute post like yours! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in California we cooked a lobster. Well Clark cooked the lobster. It screamed when he put in in the pot. He ate it. I just stared at it and couldn't eat it. At least your fist don't scream. ha!ha!
ReplyDeleteToo cool. Our whole family LOVES to fish. I remember Meagan's first time. She was about 6 or 7. Everyone caught a lot. When we got home and started to clean them Meg got really upset and said "we are going to kill them? I want to go put them all back." fun fun fun
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what to say.
ReplyDelete:)
Are you home yet?!
Hey did you ever put up prom pictures??? Did I miss them???? I would love to see them :)
