After a rather eventful dentist trip yesterday i got to thinking.
YESTERDAY
Digging around my teeth.

ahuh.

ouch!

"you have been doing quite well on your brushing, but you should work some more on everything else. Your gums are quite swollen and...see? they are bleeding quite a bit."
WELL DUH!!!!!!
you just spent twenty minutes poking and jabbing at my gums! OF COURSE they're bleeding.
Yeah - wonder if you are still going to the dentist we are (your mom referred us) - last time I was in I had the gal at checkout mark ALL our records that we were not to be put with a certain hygenist (whose name I can't remember!) I plainly told them that if she was that rough with me as an adult I felt sorry for any small children but under her care!
